Get information about being Trained in Discernment Counseling

Providing discernment counseling to clients is both challenging and rewarding. I believe it provides an excellent ROI (return on investment), especially if you work with couples in therapy (approximately 50% of discernment couples choose 6 months of couples therapy).

If you are interested in attending a free webinar, “Bring DC to Your Practice,” please complete the form to the right or check out our “Workshops and Presentations” page to see dates of upcoming presentations.

Refer Clients to Discernment Counseling

One of the handouts (available by completing the form below) gives information about:

  • Appropriate referral scenarios
  • “Rule outs” for discernment counseling
  • How to describe discernment counseling to your clients

When referring, most clients appreciate one or two names rather than a long list or web link. We hope you’ll consider LWA Discernment services; through PsyPact, I see couples in 42 different states. You can find more information here.  You can find other discernment counselors in your geographic area by going to the national directory.

There are many therapists who advertise that they provide discernment counseling but have not completed the training. We recommend you look to see if they confirm that they are a Certified Discernment Counselor.
